A 3-pointer by Matt Vogrich with 4:04 remaining in the game enabled Michigan to stay ahead and hold off a pesky Harvard squad, 65-62, on Saturday at Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor, Mich.
His shot helped ruin the return to Ann Harbor for Harvard coach Tommy Amaker, who coached Michigan until John Beilen took over.
Two free throws by Harvard’s Christian Webster brought the Crimson to within 51-50 with 4:28 remaining, but Vogrich sank a perimeter shot off a pass from Zack Novak to restore some breathing room, and Harvard (5-2) got no closer.
Two free throws by Novak gave Michigan a 65-59 lead with seven seconds to go to seal it for Michigan (5-2), which shot 25-of-53 (47.2 percent) from the field and committed 24 turnovers.
Stu Douglass led the Wolverines with 19 points and Darius Morris added 13. Novak had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Keith Wright led Harvard with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
