Ben Hansbrough scored 21 points, including a couple of key outside shots in the second half, helping Notre Dame remain unbeaten with an 81-72 victory over a stubborn Indiana State squad on Tuesday evening.

Due for a letdown after topping Wisconsin in the championship of the Old Spice Classic on Sunday, the Fighting Irish (8-0) trailed for much of the first half before rallying late to take a 38-33 edge into the locker room. Notre Dame maintained control after the break, using two quick three-pointers from Hansbrough to build a 56-45 advantage at the 11:53 mark and holding on from there.

Notre Dame shot a torrid 59.2 percent from the floor and hit more than half (9 of 17) of its attempts from long distance. The Sycamores (3-4) lost despite hitting as many field goals (29) as the Irish and shooting just under 50 percent.

Tim Abromaitis and Scott Martin chipped in with 18 and 15 points, respectively, for Notre Dame, while Carleton Scott finished with 11 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots. Dwayne Lathan led all scorers with 27 points in a losing effort.
