Rick Jackson posted another double-double and seventh-ranked Syracuse's patented zone defense frustrated Cornell en route to a 79-58 home victory against Cornell on Tuesday at the Carrier Dome.

After having five players score in double figures in Saturday's win against Georgia Tech, the Orange again showed off their balance Tuesday, as Jackson led three players in double figures.

Jackson had 17 points and 14 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season, Kris Joseph added 16 points, and Dion Waiters chipped in 11 points and four assists.

Syracuse (7-0) shot 48.3 percent from the field and led 38-17 at halftime. The Orange held a rebounding edge of 39-27.

Cornell (2-5), which has lost four straight, shot just 33.9 percent from the field and was 7-for-29 from 3-point range.

Errick Peck was the only player in double figures for the Big Red, scoring 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Chris Wroblewski added eight points and seven assists.

The Orange face a pair of tough non-conference matchups in the next week, taking on N.C. State and Michigan State at the Carrier Dome. They then have four tune-ups against small-conference teams before opening Big East play Dec. 28 against Providence.

It was the third of five consecutive road games for Cornell, which travels to Minnesota on Saturday.
