Augustus Gilchrist's perfect shooting day helped lift South Florida to a 76-63 victory over Georgia Southern in the South Padre Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the Sun Dome in Tampa, Fla.

Gilchrist, a 6-foot-10 post player, scored a game-high 23 points and made all eight of his field goals for the Bulls.

Toarlyn Fitzpatrick added 13 points and Jared Famous scored 12 points for South Florida, which held a 39-30 halftime lead and scored the first five points of the second half to pull away.

Junior guard Ben Drayton scored a team-high 19 points for the Eagles, who fell to 2-2 overall. They will travel to Texas Tech on Tuesday to continue play in the invitational.

The Bulls (2-2) will also continue play in the invitational with a home game Tuesday against Liberty. They will then travel to South Padre, Texas on Friday to face BYU.
