Still waiting for its first real test of the season, No. 1 Duke rested its starters in the second half and cruised to a 110-58 win Friday over visiting Colgate.

Kyle Singler scored 18 points to lead five Blue Devils in double digits. Nolan Smith and Andre Dawkins added 16 points apiece and Kyrie Irving chipped in 13.

Colgate never led in the game and trailed 44-26 at the half. Duke (3-0) received 22 points and six assists from the backcourt tandem of Smith and Irving in the opening half .

The closest Colgate got was 9-8 with 15:59 left in the first half when forward Brandon James (seven points, six rebounds) made his only 3-pointer of the game.

Duke connected on 12-of-30 3-pointers and had a slight rebounding edge at 41-37.

Picked to finish near the bottom of the Patriot League, Colgate (0-3) was little match for Duke, which has won an NCAA-best 80 consecutive non-conference home games.

Junior forward Yaw Gyawu had nine points and six rebounds to lead the Red Raiders, who shot 31.3 percent (21-of-67) from the field.
