No. 21 Georgetown showed off its talented and experienced backcourt in an 80-67 win over Coastal Carolina, Thursday in the first round of the Charleston (S.C) Classic.

Hoya guard Jason Clark dropped a game-high 22 points on the Chanticleers out of the Big South Conference. Chris Wright added 12 points and 12 assists, and Austin Freeman chipped in with 20 for Georgetown. That Hoya trio is the main reason why they're expected to contend in the rugged Big East.

The Hoyas (3-0) advance to face the winner of USC-Upstate and Wofford in Friday's second round.

Coastal Carolina trailed by only six at halftime, but didn't have answer for an early second-half run by Georgetown. The Chanticleers (2-2) were led by Kierre Greenwood with 16 points, and Desmond Holloway added 13.
