Justin Robinson scored 28 points to lead Rider to a 77-57 victory over host Southern California on Wednesday night in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off tournament.

Robinson was 9 for 10 from the field, including 5-for-5 from 3-point range as the Broncos (2-1) led by nine at halftime, and steadily pulled away in the second half. Rider shot 60 percent from the field.

Maurice Jones and Donte Smith scored 13 points apiece, and Alex Stepheson had nine points and six rebounds for the Trojans (2-1), who were 23 for 61 from the field, including 1 for 15 from 3-point range. Southern Cal was also 10 for 20 from the free-throw line.

Both teams travel to Springfield, Mass., to continue play in the Tip-Off tournament on Saturday, when Southern Cal plays Bradley and Rider meets Texas Christian.
