Glen Davis scored 20 points, including a pair of free throws with 15.4 seconds left, to help the visiting Boston Celtics rally to an 89-85 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday.

Davis had 15 points in the second half, including eight in the decisive third quarter, as the Celtics (49-19) moved back into a first-place tie with Chicago in the Eastern Conference.

David West scored 32 points and Chris Paul had 15 assists for the Hornets (40-31).

Ray Allen also scored 20 points for Boston. The Celtics, who trailed by as many as 15 points early in the third, looked like they were about to be blown out for a second straight night before they took control with a 14-2 run to end the period. Boston trailed by as many as 29 in its 93-77 loss at Houston on Friday.

Marco Belinelli scored 14 of his 23 points as the Hornets led 28-14 after one quarter. They enjoyed a 51-40 halftime advantage as West had 17 points and Paul had 10 assists while the team shot 60.6 percent from the field.

Paul scored only four points on 0-for-9 shooting after averaging 28.7 in his last three games. The Hornets shot 32.5 percent in the second half.
