OAKLAND, Calif. -- After shutting out the high-powered Golden State Warriors for nearly the first three minutes Tuesday night, Utah Jazz coach Quin Snyder felt compelled to call a timeout.

That's how poorly the Jazz were playing offensively.

Unfortunately for the visitors, the break didn't help.

The Warriors' defense was at its season's best while the Jazz's offense was at its worst, a combination that produced a 104-74 Golden State victory.

"It was ugly," Warriors defensive ace Draymond Green said about the game's first six minutes, during which only six points were scored. "We just continued to take good shots and we continued to take care of the ball. Nothing crazy. We did a good job sticking to the script."

Stephen Curry scored a game-high 25 points, Kevin Durant chipped in with 22 and Klay Thompson totaled 17, helping the Warriors (23-4) record their seventh straight home win over Utah.

The 74 points allowed were the fewest of the season for the Warriors, who won by 30 or more points for the fifth time.

"The game plan wasn't anything special or out of the ordinary," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "Challenge jump shots, keep the ball out of the paint and rebound. I thought we did a great job of that.

"It was really one of my favorite games of the year for us."

The Jazz, meanwhile, were held to a season-low point total. Utah hadn't previously lost a game by more than 14 points.

"I don't want to overreact to our game," Snyder said. "We have a game (Wednesday night against Sacramento). That's the thing about the NBA: There's no time to lament the past. You just have to try to be better."

Neither team scored in the first 3:26, a drought that ended when Curry made a free throw. The sellout crowd sarcastically erupted in joy.

"I've never seen that before," Kerr said. "I loved that we stayed with it."

Golden State led just 19-15 after one quarter, but Durant opened the second period with a pair of jumpers to help open an 11-point advantage. Thompson then hit six shots in seven attempts in the final 6:40 of the quarter as Golden State used a 36-point eruption to take a 55-33 halftime advantage.

"It's just a matter of time," Kerr said of his team's offense. "If we don't turn the ball over, with this team, eventually, shots are going to go."

The Jazz, who had won their previous three road games, were never appreciably closer in the second half.

Green finished with a 15-point, 11-rebound double-double for the Warriors, who were coming off a season-best 45-point home win over Portland.

Golden State shot 44.4 percent, including 39.1 percent (9-for-23) from 3-point range.

Twelve of Curry's 25 points came via four 3-pointers.

On a night when their starters combined for just 25 points, three reserves, led by Joe Johnson with 14 points, paced the Jazz.

Utah took the blowout opportunity to rest its starters. It already was playing without injured point guard George Hill and power forward Derrick Favors, who was given the night off.

Center Rudy Gobert played 31 minutes, the most among Jazz starters, and made the most of them, recording an 11-point, 16-rebound double-double.

The other four Utah starters combined for 14 points. That included Gordon Hayward, who missed eight of his 10 shots and finished with six points in 27 minutes, and Rodney Hood, who was limited to 11 minutes because of an illness.

"We looked like we were just scared, and we shouldn't be," Gobert said. "We should just come out and play basketball and have fun. Offensively, we just looked like we didn't want to play."

Joe Ingles and Trey Lyles had 11 points apiece off the bench for Utah, which shot 35.5 percent and was 9-for-30 on 3-pointers.

NOTES: Warriors PG Stephen Curry's first 3-pointer of the game was the 1,700th of his career. Only eight active players -- including Jazz SF Joe Johnson (1,868) -- have made more. ... The Warriors have held three straight opponents to 90 points or fewer. ... The Warriors' previous low for points allowed this season had been 83 at Indiana on Nov. 21. ... Utah's previous season-low for points scored had been 75 against the Los Angeles Clippers on Oct. 31. ... The Jazz officially listed PF Derrick Favors' absence as being due to "rehab protocol," which was a fancy way of saying "rest."
