Guard Damian Lillard scored 28 points and guard C.J. McCollum collected 26 points and a career-high eight rebounds for the Trail Blazers (51-29), who lost for the third time in four outings.

The Jazz jumped to an 11-4 lead behind nine quick points by Booker. They led 32-19 after one quarter, with Booker's 19 points matching the Blazers' total.

Utah's advantage was 34-19 when Portland began to claw back, McCollum scoring 10 straight points to draw the Blazers to within 44-42 with four minutes left in the half.

The Jazz answered with eight straight for a 52-42 advantage and led 56-46 at intermission.

Booker led the way with 21 points on 7-for-8 shooting -- 3-for-3 from the 3-point line -- and Hood added 14 points.

McCollum scored 14 and center Robin Lopez 13 on 5-for-6 shooting for the Blazers. The Jazz shot 50 percent and dominated the boards 25-15.

Lillard opened the third quarter with back-to-back 3-pointers that touched off a 10-0 run for Portland that evened the count at 56-56. The teams battled back and forth, the Blazers taking a 71-69 lead on a dunk by guard Allen Crabbe with 4:45 left in the quarter.

The Jazz went on a 10-0 run to go ahead 94-86 with seven minutes left. Portland trailed 100-93 with 4:30 remaining, but Lillard made back-to-back baskets to get the Blazers to within 101-99 with three minutes to go.

Hood scored in a driving layup to push Utah back in front 103-101 with 2:15 left. Booker upped the margin to 105-101 with a pair at the line with 1:18 to go, then made 1 of 2 to make it 106-101 with 33.6 seconds remaining.

Guard Bryce Cotton increased the lead to 108-101 with two foul shots with 31.9 seconds to go, putting the game on ice.

NOTES: Both teams sat starters. Portland held out F LaMarcus Aldridge, who had an MRI exam on his sore left foot on Friday, and G Arron Afflalo, out 1-2 weeks because of a right shoulder injury. Aldridge's injury is not serious. "We thought it was best to hold him out and let him recover," coach Terry Stotts said. ... Utah, playing the second of back-to-back games after an 89-88 loss to Memphis on Friday, rested F Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors. The Jazz, who started three rookies, wanted to get a long look at their young players. "That is the agenda," rookie coach Quin Snyder said. "It's really simple. Any way we can use a game to get better, we're going to try to do it. I want to give these guys things to work on, put things in their minds, play different combinations and see where it takes us." ... If the Blazers close out the season 3-0, they will match their 2013-14 record of 54-28. ... The Jazz have played the Blazers tough this season, beating them 92-76 and losing 103-102 and 92-89.
