Bucks 110, Celtics 101: O.J. Mayo scored 24 points and handed out six assists off the bench as Milwaukee downed Boston to end its 11-game road skid.

Ersan Ilyasova added 17 points while Khris Middleton had 13 points and seven rebounds for the Bucks, who remained 2 1/2 games ahead of the Brooklyn Nets for the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. Zaza Pachulia tallied 11 points and eight rebounds while Giannis Antetokounmpo also had 11 points for Milwaukee, which shot 52.9 percent from the floor.

Isaiah Thomas led the way with 23 points and six assists in a reserve role for the Celtics, who fell one-half game behind the Miami Heat for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East. Avery Bradley and Jonas Jerebko scored 17 points apiece while Brandon Bass had 12 as Boston wasted a 56-point effort from its bench.

Jerebko sparked a 10-0 surge to put Boston on top 45-37 before Mayo drained two 3-pointers as part of an 8-0 spurt to even the score. Mayo went 4-of-4 from beyond the arc en route to 20 first-half points but Milwaukee trailed 52-50 at intermission before Ilyasova scored 11 points during an 18-2 burst as the Bucks pulled ahead 73-58.

Thomas keyed a 7-0 spurt to pull the Celtics within 86-82 early in the fourth quarter before Jared Dudley drilled a clutch 3-pointer to help Milwaukee reclaim a double-digit advantage at 98-88. Bradley connected from downtown to close the gap to seven with 4:41 remaining before Middleton's jumper and Michael Carter-Williams' dunk gave the Bucks some breathing room at 102-91 as they went on to post their first road win in over two months.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Antetokounmpo has scored in double figures in 14 straight games, which is the longest stretch of his career. … Milwaukee overcame 18 turnovers and an 11-of-18 performance from the free-throw line. … Celtics PF Jared Sullinger played three minutes after missing the previous 24 games with a broken left foot.
