Avery Bradley collected 30 points and eight rebounds as visiting Boston bounced back by holding off Charlotte.

Evan Turner scored 15 points and Jae Crowder added 14 off the bench for the Celtics, who pulled into a tie for the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference with the Brooklyn Nets. Marcus Smart recorded 14 points, six rebounds and three steals while Kelly Olynyk scored 11 as Boston recovered after being crushed by the Los Angeles Clippers at home on Sunday.

Kemba Walker had 28 points and 12 assists while Mo Williams scored 19 off the bench for the Hornets, who dropped 1 1/2 games behind Boston and Brooklyn. Gerald Henderson scored 17 points as Charlotte fell for the ninth time in 12 games.

Isaiah Thomas, Olynyk and Smart each buried a 3-pointer and Jonas Jerebko added a three-point play in a 12-4 run that put the Celtics in front 38-33 with just under nine minutes left in the first half. Smart scored six points during a 10-0 run that pushed the advantage to 50-37 before Boston settled for a 12-point cushion at the break.

Bradley hit back-to-back 3-pointers early in the third to spread the lead to 64-46, and the advantage reached 83-61 before the Celtics took a 16-point lead into the fourth. Walker scored 12 straight points for the Hornets to get it down to 110-104 with 34 seconds left but missed a 3-point attempt before Bradley knocked down two free throws following a clear-path foul and Boston put it away at the line.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bradley and Smart combined for five points in Sunday’s loss but went 17-of-32 against Charlotte. … Charlotte G Lance Stephenson did not get off the bench to complete his fall from the rotation. … The Celtics have won six straight on the second night of back-to-backs.
