Lakers 101, Timberwolves 99 (OT): Jordan Clarkson scored 20 points and hit two free throws with 0.3 seconds remaining to lift visiting Los Angeles past Minnesota.

Clarkson was fouled after grabbing an offensive rebound with the score tied as the Lakers won for the third time in 13 games. Jeremy Lin scored 19 points and Ed Davis had 14 points and nine rebounds as Los Angeles notched a road victory for the second time in the last 18 opportunities.

Andrew Wiggins scored 27 points for the Timberwolves, who lost for the 12th time in the last 15 games. Chase Budinger scored a season-best 22 points and Zach LaVine added 18 on 5-of-18 shooting.

Minnesota trailed by five points late in regulation before LaVine hit two free throws and Budinger knocked down the tying 3-pointer with 6.6 seconds to go. Los Angeles was leading late in overtime before Gorgui Dieng hit a tying jumper with 18.7 seconds left and Wiggins blocked Wayne Ellington’s shot with 1.3 seconds left as Clarkson got the rebound, was fouled by LaVine and hit the decisive free throws.

The Lakers held a 13-point advantage early in the third quarter before settling for a 73-66 lead entering the fourth. Minnesota used a 12-2 surge and took an 82-81 lead on Dieng’s hoop with 5:54 left in the fourth quarter before Jabari Brown drained a tiebreaking 3-pointer to put the Lakers ahead with 2:05 left and Clarkson followed with a jumper for a 90-85 edge

GAME NOTEBOOK: Los Angeles was just 6-of-26 from 3-point range but Brown made all three of his attempts. … The Timberwolves were again without C Nikola Pekovic (ankle), PF Kevin Garnett (knee), SG Kevin Martin (hamstring) and PG Ricky Rubio (ankle). … Paul Pressey served as Lakers coach for the second straight game while Byron Scott is away after the death of his mother.
