Pistons 107, Bulls 91: Reggie Jackson had 22 points and 11 assists and sparked a big second-half surge as host Detroit prevailed in a game of runs.
Caron Butler added 20 points for the Pistons, who had dropped 11 of their last 12 games. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 15 points and Jodie Meeks 12 off the bench as Detroit shot 11-of-26 from beyond the arc and committed just four turnovers.
Pau Gasol had 27 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulls, who fell back into a virtual tie for third place in the East with Toronto after beating the Raptors on Friday. Aaron Brooks scored 19 points and Joakim Noah added 13 rebounds and seven assists for Chicago, which outscored Detroit 36-14 in the second quarter but was outscored by 28 points after intermission.
Jackson scored 12 points and added five assists and Caldwell-Pope drained two 3-pointers during the final 6 1/2 minutes of the third quarter that turned a 19-point deficit into a 80-79 lead entering the fourth. Meeks and Caldwell-Pope knocked down shots from the arc early in the fourth and Spencer Dinwiddie added eight points, including a shot from the arc with 4:18 left that pushed the bulge to 18 as Detroit pulled away.
Butler drained three shots from the arc en route to 13 points in the final 4:49 of the first quarter as Detroit pushed to a 30-20 edge. Brooks capped a 26-6 run to open the second quarter with a 3-pointer and Gasol knocked down a 3-pointer and a jumper to provide Chicago a 72-53 lead early in the third quarter.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Pistons committed just two turnovers in the first half but shot just 40.4 percent from the floor and attempted just two free throws. ... Detroit F Greg Monroe missed his third straight game with a knee injury and F Shawne Williams also did not dress due to illness. ... Bulls G Jimmy Butler (elbow) missed his 10th straight game but is expected back next week.
