Grizzlies 112, Mavericks 101: Zach Randolph led seven players in double figures with 21 points as visiting Memphis eased past Dallas.
Marc Gasol collected 15 points and 10 rebounds while Mike Conley (ankle) scored 14 in his return from a four-game absence for the Grizzlies, who moved 1 1/2 games ahead of the Houston Rockets in the race for the No. 2 spot in the Western Conference. Jeff Green scored 15 points to lead the reserves and Tony Allen added 13 points for Memphis.
Dirk Nowitzki and Devin Harris recorded 16 points apiece as the Mavericks had a three-game winning streak come to an end. Monta Ellis, Chandler Parsons and Charlie Villanueva each scored 12 points and Tyson Chandler grabbed 13 rebounds for Dallas, which dropped one game behind the Los Angeles Clippers for the No. 5 spot in the West.
The Mavericks held a 35-34 lead with four minutes left in the first half before the Grizzlies closed with a 10-2 run to take a seven-point lead into the break. Back-to-back 3-pointers from Conley pushed it to 54-39 and the lead reached 23 points on Randolph’s free throws with 5:11 left in the third before Memphis settled for an 83-68 advantage heading into the fourth.
Dallas drew within 99-90 on Parsons’ layup with 3:47 left but Green countered with a 3-pointer and Conley drove for a layup to push it back to a 14-point edge. Allen’s free throw made it 106-90 as the Grizzlies cruised to the finish.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Dallas F Amar’e Stoudemire drew two technical fouls and was ejected after arguing an offensive foul call in the third quarter. … Harris went 3-of-3 from 3-point range while the rest of the Mavericks were 5-of-19. … Grizzlies F Jon Leuer (back) missed his third straight game.
