Pistons 105, Grizzlies 95: Reggie Jackson finished with 23 points and a career-high 20 assists as host Detroit rallied in the second half to snap a 10-game slide.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 16 of his 24 points in a big third quarter for the Pistons, who also halted a 10-game skid against Memphis. Andre Drummond had 16 points, 16 rebounds and five blocked shots while Anthony Tolliver chipped in 15 points in his first start for Detroit.
Jeff Green scored 21 points and Marc Gasol had 17 and 11 boards to lead the way for the Grizzlies, who have lost three straight on the road. Vince Carter tallied 14 points off the bench and Zach Randolph chipped in 13 as Memphis saw its lead over Portland for second place in the Western Conference trimmed to 1 1/2 games.
Caldwell-Pope was 6-of-7 in the third and hit back-to-back 3-pointers to cap a 13-0 run that pulled Detroit even at 73-all, and Jackson's jumper early in the fourth gave the Pistons their first lead since it was 5-2. Jackson later had a three-point play and a layup to spark a 9-0 burst that put the hosts up 97-90 and the Grizzlies went over four minutes down the stretch without a field goal to stifle any chance at a comeback.
Randolph had nine points and three assists in the first quarter to help Memphis bolt to a 30-18 lead. The margin grew to as many as 17 in the second before the Grizzlies settled for a 54-39 halftime advantage on Randolph's basket in the closing seconds, but Detroit burst out of the break on a 13-4 run to get within 58-52.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Detroit was without leading scorer PF Greg Monroe (strained right knee), while Memphis PG Mike Conley (ankle) missed his fourth straight game. ... Jackson had only two turnovers in his big performance as the Pistons finished with nine, compared to 18 for the Grizzlies. ... Detroit SF Tayshaun Prince, who spent parts of three seasons with Memphis before being traded earlier this season, had 11 points and five rebounds against his former team.
