Clippers 89, Timberwolves 76: J.J. Redick scored 26 points and DeAndre Jordan contributed 20 points and 17 rebounds as host Los Angeles posted its 12th consecutive victory over Minnesota.

Chris Paul notched 15 assists but scored just two points on 1-of-6 shooting for the Clippers. Matt Barnes and Austin Rivers added 13 points apiece as Los Angeles moved a half-game ahead of the Dallas Mavericks for fifth place in the Western Conference.

Rookie Adreian Payne recorded season bests of 16 points and 15 rebounds but couldn’t prevent the Timberwolves from losing for the fifth time in six games. Nikola Pekovic had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Ricky Rubio registered 12 assists.

The Clippers led by 12 entering the fourth quarter and started it off by missing their first eight shots. Los Angeles finally found its mark and eventually scored 11 consecutive points to take an 87-66 lead on Jordan’s dunk with 4:01 remaining and the Clippers cruised to the finish.

Los Angeles used an 11-0 run in the second quarter to turn a three-point deficit into an eight-point lead and held a 48-39 lead at the break. Rivers' basket increased the lead to 13 with 2:36 left in the third quarter and the Clippers took a 74-62 lead into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Redick has made 13 3-pointers while averaging 22 points over the last four games. … Payne started in place of veteran PF Kevin Garnett, who was rested. … Clippers SG Jamal Crawford (calf) missed his third straight game and there isn’t a definitive timetable for his return.
