Celtics 100, Heat 90: Isaiah Thomas recorded 12 of his team-high 25 points in the fourth quarter as visiting Boston held off Miami for its third victory in the last four games.

Brandon Bass scored 14 to go along with nine rebounds, four assists and three steals while Luigi Datome matched his career high with 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting for the Celtics. Kelly Olynyk added 10 points for Boston, which had a 43-32 advantage on the boards to finish its road trip 2-1.

Dwyane Wade led the way with 34 points on 13-of-23 shooting for the Heat, who were without injured guard Goran Dragic (back) for the second straight game. Michael Beasley registered 14 points off the bench while Mario Chalmers scored 12 and Luol Deng added 11 for Miami.

The Celtics led by as many as nine in the first half before giving up eight of the final 10 points, including Wade’s jumper in the final seconds that pulled the Heat within 43-40 at intermission. Miami edged in front 57-54, but Boston responded with 15 of the next 16 points – six by Olynyk – and settled for a 73-64 lead going to the fourth quarter.

Wade drained a 3-pointer to cap a 10-2 burst as the Heat pulled within three before Jonas Jerebko scored five as the Celtics answered with seven straight points. Wade cut the deficit to 93-87 on a free throw with 2:54 to go, but Thomas drained a 3-pointer and followed that up with a pair from the foul line for an 11-point bulge and Boston was able to close it out.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami C Hassan Whiteside had seven points and nine rebounds before being ejected after getting called for a flagrant-2 foul when he pushed Olynyk from behind under the basket late in the third quarter. … Boston’s second-leading scorer G Avery Bradley (elbow) missed his third consecutive game. … The Heat released a statement announcing F Chris Bosh, who is out for the season with blood clots in his lungs, is scheduled to resume full basketball activities in September. The All-Star addressed the crowd Monday to thank the fans for their support.
