Suns 94, Spurs 89: Isaiah Thomas scored 23 points off the bench and Markieff Morris added 20 points and 11 rebounds as Phoenix knocked off visiting San Antonio.

Eric Bledsoe collected 12 points and nine rebounds while Alex Len picked up his first career double-double with 10 points and 11 boards for the Suns, who trailed by 15 points in the first quarter. Goran Dragic and Gerald Green had 10 points apiece for Phoenix, which went 22-of-26 at the line.

Tony Parker had 19 points and six assists to lead the Spurs, who were outscored 27-18 in the fourth quarter. Tim Duncan recorded 16 points and nine rebounds while Boris Diaw scored 13 off the bench for San Antonio.

Austin Daye’s 3-pointer gave the Spurs an 87-82 lead with 5:09 left before the Suns made their move with a 10-0 run capped by Morris’ dunk off an underneath feed from Len with 1:08 to play. Manu Ginobili scored his first points of the night on two free throws with 59 seconds left, but San Antonio could not get the ball inbounds with 6.5 seconds left and Phoenix closed it out at the free-throw line.

The Spurs built up a 24-11 lead at the end of the first quarter but the Suns began to battle back with a 13-2 run to begin the second before settling for a 45-36 deficit at the half. Thomas’ jumper cut it to 69-67 with 47 seconds left in the third quarter but Diaw’s basket sent San Antonio into the final period with a 71-67 cushion.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Spurs F Kawhi Leonard (eye infection) returned to the lineup after missing the first game sitting out the last two weeks of the preseason and struggled to six points while going 0-of-5 from the field. … Phoenix was just 2-of-18 from 3-point range after hitting 16-of-32 from beyond the arc in Wednesday’s opener. … Thomas has scored 23 points off the bench in each of the Suns’ first two games.
