Cavaliers 110, Warriors 99: LeBron James scored a season-high 42 points to go with 11 rebounds as Cleveland turned away visiting Golden State to pick up its 11th straight home win.

Kyrie Irving added 24 points for the Cavaliers, who have won 18 of their last 20 games. Kevin Love collected 16 points and eight rebounds and Timofey Mozgov had 10 and 10 as Cleveland moved within one game of the Toronto Raptors in the No. 2 spot in the Eastern Conference.

David Lee scored 19 points off the bench and Stephen Curry added 18 and six assists as the Warriors dropped to 1-2 on their season-long six-game road trip. Draymond Green recorded 16 points, eight rebounds and five steals while Klay Thompson scored 13 for Golden State.

James scored 24 points in the first half to help the Cavaliers take a 61-56 lead into the break and had nine points and an assist in a 12-0 run that put Cleveland in front 77-61 with 6:47 left in the third. Thompson knocked down a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 86-76 before the Cavaliers pushed it back to 12 points heading into the fourth.

The Warriors pulled within 94-85 on Lee’s putback with 9:26 left but Irving’s free throws spread it back to 101-87 with seven minutes to play. Golden State got back within 11 points with 2:38 remaining but Love drained a 3-pointer and the teams cleared the benches.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Irving left the game in the third quarter with a left shoulder injury and went to the locker room but returned with 8:32 left in the game. … Warriors coach Steve Kerr earned a technical foul in the first half and was upset at several points at a free-throw disparity that saw the Cavaliers go 29-of-35 from the line while Golden State was 10-of-19. … Curry went 3-of-9 from beyond the arc and has hit at least one 3-pointer in 63 straight road games – the third-longest streak in NBA history.
