Lakers 118, Celtics 111 (OT)
: Jeremy Lin scored a season-high 25 points off the bench as Los Angeles recovered after blowing a late lead in regulation against visiting Boston.

Wesley Johnson added a season-best 22 points and fellow reserve Nick Young scored 19 points as the Lakers received 84 points from their bench players to help them end a seven-game losing streak. Carlos Boozer led the starters with 12 points and eight rebounds for Los Angeles.

Jae Crowder matched his career high with 22 points for Boston, which learned earlier in the day that leading scorer and rebounder Jared Sullinger would miss the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his right foot. Isaiah Thomas scored 21 points off the bench in his debut with the Celtics after his trade from the Phoenix Suns on Thursday, but was ejected with 5:03 left in regulation for consecutive technical fouls, and Avery Bradley added 20 points.

Lin scored the first basket of overtime to give the Lakers the lead for good, then forced a turnover on the other end before assisting on three straight baskets that helped extend the lead to 114-109 with a minute left in overtime. His pull-up jumper pushed the lead back to five with 34 seconds left and Wayne Ellington closed out the win with two free throws with 16 seconds on the clock.

The Lakers moved ahead by nine with 1:28 remaining in regulation on 12-footer by Young, but the Celtics didn’t fade, scoring seven unanswered points to get within two with 18 seconds on the clock. Young, a 90 percent free throw shooter on the season coming in, made 3-of-4 in the final 12 seconds, but the one he missed proved vital as Bradley sank a 3 at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Boston fell to 0-5 in overtime games this season. … Lakers G Ronnie Price had four steals to give him at least one in 18 consecutive games, which is the third-longest active streak behind Victor Oladipo (28) of the Orlando Magic and James Harden (26) of the Houston Rockets. …. The Lakers avoided getting swept by the Celtics for the first time since 2007-08.
