Spurs 104, Pistons 87: Danny Green scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds as visiting San Antonio entered the All-Star break on a winning note.

Tony Parker had 17 points and a team-high six assists for the Spurs, who improved to 2-1 on a nine-game stretch away from home that resumes following the break. Manu Ginobili chipped in 13 points off the bench and Aron Baynes had 12 for San Antonio.

D.J. Augustin led Detroit with 22 points while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope finished with 20. Andre Drummond was the only other Piston in double figures with 10 points as his team fell to 10-18 at home.

The Pistons had just one basket in the final five-plus minutes of the first quarter in falling behind 20-12 and were down by nine at the break, despite a halfcourt buzzer-beater from John Lucas III. Kawhi Leonard scored the first four points of the third for the Spurs and the lead stayed in double digits throughout the period, reaching 82-63 on Ginobili's hoop before the buzzer.

Detroit forced a timeout with a 6-0 burst to begin the fourth and pulled within 12 on Caldwell-Pope's 3-pointer midway through the quarter. Green had a pair of baskets to push the margin to 97-81 with four minutes to go and the hosts never threatened again.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Spurs PF Tim Duncan went 4-for-4 from the field in the third quarter and 0-for-3 in the other three quarters combined. ... San Antonio had a 45-36 advantage on the glass. ... Pistons PF Greg Monroe finished with six points and six rebounds after recording 23 and 12 in a win at Charlotte on Tuesday.
