Pistons 106, Hornets 78: Greg Monroe finished with 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead visiting Detroit past Charlotte.

D.J. Augustin and Jodie Meeks had 18 points apiece for the Pistons, who snapped a five-game road losing streak. Anthony Tolliver scored 16 points and Andre Drummond recorded 14 points and nine rebounds for Detroit.

Gerald Henderson scored 17 points and Al Jefferson contributed 13 and 10 boards as the Hornets dropped their third straight. Rookie P.J. Hairston had a season-high 16 points for Charlotte, which shot 35.8 percent from the field.

Augustin had five points and Monroe three as Detroit scored the final eight points of the first half to claim a 54-46 lead. Monroe extended the run with a basket to open the second half and gave the Pistons another double-digit lead on a layup midway through the third quarter.

Monroe also capped a 14-2 run to end the period with a basket before the buzzer to make it 83-60, and Drummond had back-to-back hoops early in the fourth as the advantage reached 25. The lead topped out at 31 as the Pistons easily ended a three-game losing streak in the series.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Hornets acquired PG Mo Williams and SG Troy Daniels and cash considerations from Minnesota in exchange for SG Gary Neal and a second-round pick in 2019. ... Charlotte F Michael Kidd-Gilchrist missed his second straight game with a hamstring injury. ... Detroit was 27-of-30 from the line, while Charlotte went 11-of-14.
