Jimmy Butler added 27 points, six steals and five assists for the Bulls, who scored seven points in the final 32 seconds. Joakim Noah tallied 18 points and nine rebounds while Derrick Rose finished with 10 points and 11 assists for Chicago.

Victor Oladipo led the way with 18 points while Tobias Harris had 15, but inexplicably missed a layup just before time expired for the Magic, who couldn't overcome 18 turnovers. Evan Fournier and Nikola Vucevic chipped in with 14 points apiece while Elfrid Payton had 10 points and nine rebounds.

Payton scored six straight points and Oladipo hit a floater as Orlando pulled ahead 97-91 before Rose connected from beyond the arc as part of a five-point possession following a clear path foul to trim the deficit to one with 19.6 seconds left. Gasol grabbed Rose's miss and finished at the rim to put the Bulls in front 98-97 with less than 10 seconds left before Harris missed from close range at the buzzer for Orlando.

Butler connected from beyond the arc and then converted a three-point play to end the first quarter with 12 points as the Bulls doubled up the Magic 32-16. Orlando trailed 50-45 at halftime before Harris rocked the rim with an emphatic two-handed slam and then stepped out and buried a 3-pointer to put the Magic ahead 82-81.
