Trail Blazers 114, 76ers 93: Wesley Matthews buried seven 3-pointers en route to 25 points as host Portland coasted past Philadelphia.

Damian Lillard led the way with 28 points and nine assists and Joel Freeland grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who have won seven of their last eight games. Nicolas Batum added 14 points for Portland.

Tony Wroten scored 22 points off the bench as the 76ers had their season-long two-game winning streak come to an end. Michael Carter-Williams added 17 points, six rebounds and five assists for Philadelphia.

Matthews hit back-to-back 3-pointers to put the Trail Blazers in front 33-26 early in the second quarter and he connected again from beyond the arc to push the lead to 55-39 with 2:50 left in the half. The 76ers used a 12-2 run to cut it back to 57-51 before settling for a 10-point deficit at the break.

Matthews hit two more 3-pointers and Batum added a jumper to cap an 8-0 run that stretched the lead to 69-52 less than three minutes into the third. Portland went into the fourth quarter in front 88-74 and Lillard and Matthews combined on an 8-0 run to hold off a surge by Philadelphia and make it 106-86 before the starters exited.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Blazers finished 18-of-43 from behind the arc and have hit at least 15 3-pointers in back-to-back games for the first time in franchise history. … Freeland’s 17 rebounds were the most in a game this season for Portland. … The 76ers went 3-of-14 from 3-point range.
