Spurs 129, Trail Blazers 119 (3OT): Damian Lillard scored 24 of his career-high 43 points after the two-minute mark of the fourth quarter and singlehandedly willed visiting Portland to a triple-overtime win.
Lillard scored nine points in the third overtime on three contested jumpers - one a 3-pointer - and a scoop shot down the lane as Portland scored the first 11 points to send San Antonio to its second triple-overtime defeat in three days and third consecutive loss. The Spurs, who got a season-high 32 points points from Tim Duncan two nights after logging 48 minutes against Memphis, and a season-high 27 from Danny Green, couldn't hold six-point advantages in each of the first two overtimes.
Lillard hit a left-handed drive with 1.4 seconds left to force overtime, drained a pull-up 3-pointer with 13.6 seconds to force a second and drove the lane for a two-handed dunk and then dished to Dorell Wright and Steve Blake for 3-pointers as the Trail Blazers rallied in the final two minutes to force a third extra session.
Green hit a 3-pointer from the left wing with 5.7 seconds left in regulation to give the Spurs a 97-95 lead, but Lillard tied it with his drive and then blocked a potential game-winning jumper by Green at the buzzer. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 14 points in the third but Green countered with eight, including a 3-pointer from the left wing at the buzzer off penetration from Cory Joseph to give the Spurs a 74-69 lead.
Aldridge added 32 points and 16 rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who won their fourth straight in the first of four road games. Lillard was 16-of-29 from the floor and added six assists in 53 minutes.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Spurs are the first team to play consecutive triple-overtime games since the Baltimore Bullets in 1951. … The Spurs played without starters Tony Parker (hamstring) and Kawhi Leonard (hand). … Wright had four key 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and OT for a season-high 12 points.
