Heat 95, Nets 91: Dwyane Wade scored 28 points to lead shorthanded Miami past host Brooklyn.

Luol Deng contributed 18 points and Shabazz Napier scored 11 off the bench for the Heat, who played without Chris Bosh (calf) and Josh McRoberts (knee). Mario Chalmers collected 10 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals off the bench for Miami.

Mason Plumlee got his fourth straight start in place of injured center Brook Lopez (back) and recorded a season-high 21 points and nine rebounds for the Nets, who missed out on their first three-game winning streak of the season. Joe Johnson added 16 points while Deron Williams collected 15 points and 11 assists for Brooklyn.

The Heat used a 15-4 run closing the first quarter to take control and spread the lead to 15 points late in the first half before settling for a 55-45 gap at the break. Johnson’s layup capped a 12-0 run that brought the Nets within 58-57 with 8:15 left in the third but Wade knocked down a jumper to stop the bleeding and Miami never surrendered the lead.

Wade’s basket pushed the advantage to 84-71 with 8:45 left before Brooklyn pushed back, pulling within 87-83 on back-to-back baskets by Williams with 3:16 to play. Wade’s free throw pushed the lead back to 93-83 before Johnson and Bojan Bogdanovic buried back-to-back 3-pointers to make it a one-possession game with 35 seconds left, but Deng knocked down a pair of free throws to put it away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The game was delayed 31 minutes near the end of the first quarter when water began dripping onto the floor from high above at Barclays Center. … Deng was celebrating his 700th career NBA game. … Plumlee went 8-of-12 from the floor while the rest of the Nets shot 33.8 percent.
