Jazz 100, Spurs 96:
Derrick Favors led the way with 21 points and eight rebounds as Utah knocked off visiting San Antonio to halt a nine-game slide.

Gordon Hayward added 20 points and seven boards while Alec Burks scored 14 for the Jazz. Enes Kanter collected 12 points and a season high-tying 15 rebounds to help Utah overcome 19 turnovers.

Tim Duncan recorded 23 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks and three steals as the Spurs fell for the second time in their last 10 games. Kawhi Leonard had 16 points and five steals while Marco Belinelli added 13 points for San Antonio.

Cory Joseph’s layup brought the Spurs within 87-82 with 5:22 left but Hayward responded with four straight points and Favors added a bucket to make it an 11-point edge. San Antonio got it back down to seven points but Hayward’s jumper with 1:50 left stretched it to 97-87 and the Jazz were able to hold off a late charge.

Utah took a 44-43 lead into the half and led by as much as eight points in the third before settling for a 78-72 lead heading to the fourth, thanks in part to four straight free throws with 10 seconds left in the period after Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was ejected for drawing two quick technical fouls. Duncan’s basket with 9:12 to play brought San Antonio within 81-80 before the Jazz spread it back out with a 6-0 burst.
