Thunder 114, Bucks 101: Russell Westbrook had 28 points and seven assists as Oklahoma City moved ahead in the second quarter and maintained a comfortable cushion against visiting Milwaukee.

Kevin Durant added 23 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in his season debut at home for the Thunder, who surpassed their previous season-high point total of 109 while owning a 54-31 edge on the boards. Reggie Jackson led the Oklahoma City reserves with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Serge Ibaka came through with 15 points and three blocks.

O.J. Mayo scored 12 of his 18 points in the third quarter to lead Milwaukee. Giannis Antetokounmpo added 17 points and seven rebounds and Jabari Parker finished with 15 points, but collected his only rebound in the fourth quarter after coming in second on the team at 5.9 a game.

Parker, starting center Larry Sanders and Antetokounmpo each picked up two fouls in the first four minutes of the game, but the Bucks still managed to take a 31-26 lead into the second quarter, partly due to eight turnovers by the Thunder, three each by Durant and Westbrook, who also combined for 16 points. Oklahoma City took better care of the ball in the second quarter and blew by the Bucks for a 61-52 halftime lead.

The Thunder matched Milwaukee nearly basket for basket in the third quarter and maintained their nine-point lead heading into the fourth. The Bucks got within seven with 10:55 left in the game but a stretch of nearly four minutes without a field goal put them behind by 16 with five minutes on the clock.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Bucks have lost five of last six and their next five opponents have winning records. ... Both teams shot 4-for-21 from 3-point range. ... Thunder F Nick Collison, who came in averaging 18.1 minutes this season, did not appear in the game as the return of Durant and Perry Jones III from injuries has limited his role.
