Love (15 points) and James (seven) scored all of Cleveland's points in the first quarter but their teammates were 0-for-10 from the floor and Brooklyn led 25-22. Thompson scored on a feed from James in the final minute of the first half to give the Cavaliers a 50-49 advantage and James had Cleveland's first nine points of the third quarter to give his team a 59-53 lead.
Thompson scored eight points in a 17-2 outburst to end the period as Brooklyn ran out of gas and fell behind 85-67 entering the fourth. Matthew Dellavedova, who had missed the previous 14 games due to a knee injury, scored his only basket with 7:05 left as part of an 11-3 burst that left the Cavaliers with a commanding 26-point lead, and they coasted from there.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Britain's Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton were among many luminaries in attendance, including Jay-Z, Beyonce and New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. ... Cleveland PG Kyrie Irving was held to a season-low seven points on 2-of-10 shooting. ... James made his 800th 3-pointer as a Cavalier, which leaves him two behind Mark Price's franchise record.
