Trail Blazers 103, Knicks 99: LaMarcus Aldridge had 24 points and 11 rebounds and Damian Lillard added 20 points as visiting Portland handed New York its eighth straight loss.

Wesley Matthews added 18 points for the Trail Blazers, who have won 13 of their last 14 games. Nicolas Batum contributed 11 points and seven assists as Portland improved to 6-2 on the road.

Carmelo Anthony had 23 points and 10 rebounds and J.R. Smith scored 20 points off the bench for the Knicks, who dropped to 4-18. Amar’e Stoudemire added 16 points and 10 rebounds and Iman Shumpert scored 11 points.

Steve Blake drained a 3-pointer with 6:13 remaining to give Portland a seven-point lead before the Knicks rolled off nine consecutive points and took a 97-95 lead on Anthony’s basket with 3:32 left. The Trail Blazers answered with five straight points and later put the game away when Matthews split two free throws with 1.7 seconds to play.

New York led by seven in the second quarter after a 10-0 burst before Portland rebounded and led 53-50 at the break. Anthony’s basket tied the game at 63 with 8:03 left in the third quarter and the Trail Blazers led by as many as 10 before taking an 83-75 lead into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Aldridge has seven double-doubles over the last eight games. … New York shot 51.9 percent from the field and held the Trail Blazers to 42.4. … Portland has defeated the Knicks five straight times.
