Pelicans 100, Spurs 99: Anthony Davis made the game-winning basket with 6.6 seconds left to cap a performance in which he had 27 points, 11 rebounds, six blocks and four steals as visiting New Orleans stunned San Antonio.

Tyreke Evans scored 18 points and Jrue Holiday had 15 points and 11 assists as the Pelicans snapped a seven-game road losing streak to the Spurs. Eric Gordon added 14 points for New Orleans, which defeated the Spurs for only the second time in the last 13 overall meetings.

Tony Parker scored 28 points and Manu Ginobili added 17 for San Antonio, which committed 19 turnovers. Danny Green scored 16 points, Kawhi Leonard had 14 points and 14 rebounds and Tim Duncan had 11 points and 10 rebounds for his 800th career double-double.

New Orleans led 94-84 after Evans’ dunk with 5:15 to play before the Spurs rattled off six straight points and eventually pulled within 98-96 on Leonard’s baseline jumper with 44.5 seconds to play. Green was fouled while shooting a 3-pointer and hit all three shots with 12 seconds left to give the Spurs a one-point lead before Davis countered with the go-ahead driving basket and Leonard twice came up empty in the final seconds for San Antonio.

Davis had 14 first-half points and the Pelicans committed just four turnovers while holding a 55-53 halftime edge. Two free throws by Evans late in the third increased the lead to 10 and New Orleans took an 81-71 advantage into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: San Antonio had a 49-30 rebounding edge. … The Pelicans had 11 steals and nine blocked shots. … Spurs C Tiago Splitter (calf) and SG Marco Belinelli (groin) both sat out with injuries.
