Grizzlies 97, Kings 85: Zach Randolph scored 13 of his 22 points in the first quarter and added 12 rebounds as visiting Memphis led wire-to-wire to keep alive two winning streaks.

Marc Gasol had 18 points and five assists for the Grizzlies, who have won five straight overall and nine straight against Sacramento. Memphis was outrebounded 42-35 but forced 23 turnovers to improve to an NBA-best 15-2 this season.

Reserve Reggie Evans, who did not play in seven straight games, had season highs of 17 points and 20 rebounds for the Kings, who played without star center DeMarcus Cousins for a second straight game (illness) and dropped to 4-7 in their last 11 games after a 5-1 start. Rudy Gay scored 20 points and Ben McLemore added 18 as Sacramento dropped the first contest in a stretch of 10-of-11 at home.

With Randolph scoring and the defense forcing eight turnovers, the Grizzlies jumped to a 28-20 lead after the first quarter and used a 23-10 run to open the second to take a comfortable 58-42 lead at the half. Evans and his energy kept Sacramento in the game in the third, as the 34-year-old had eight points and nine rebounds and helped hold Memphis without a hoop for four minutes as Sacramento pulled within 74-65 heading into the fourth.

McLemore scored five points and Carl Landry added four as the Kings opened the third on an 11-5 run before Gasol hit a pair of free throws, converted a hook and a jumper from the left elbow to restore an 85-76 lead with 4 1/2 minutes to play. The 7-footer scored six more the rest of the way and drew an offensive foul as Memphis cruised home.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Memphis is 11-0 against the Western Conference this season. …The Grizzlies hit 13-of-19 shots in the first quarter and shot 56.5 percent in the first half but finished at 48.1 for the game. … The teams combined to shoot 4-of-24 from beyond the arc.
