Timberwolves 115, Knicks 99:
Kevin Martin scored a season-high 37 points as host Minnesota snapped a five-game losing streak in convincing fashion.

Shabazz Muhammad had 17 points in his first career start for the Timberwolves, who forced 23 turnovers. Mo Williams and Corey Brewer scored 14 apiece and Williams handed out a season-high 13 assists as Minnesota ended a three-game home losing streak versus New York.

Carmelo Anthony scored 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting to pace the Knicks while his fellow starters went 8-for-26 from the floor. Amar'e Stoudemire added 19 points in 20 minutes off the bench as New York lost for the ninth time in 10 games.

Martin scored 13 points in the first quarter and the Timberwolves opened a 44-32 lead midway through the second with an 8-0 run that featured an alley-oop dunk by Muhammad. Stoudemire's basket at the buzzer pulled New York within 64-51 at halftime and the Knicks had the first two baskets of the second half to cut their deficit to nine points.

Muhammad's three-point play then set off a 20-5 surge that Martin finished with one of his seven 3-pointers to make it 84-60, the largest lead of the game. The Knicks, who nearly erased all of a 26-point second-half deficit in Milwaukee on Tuesday, managed to get as close as 13 with under nine minutes remaining, but Brewer and Martin teamed up on a 6-0 run and the hosts were never threatened down the stretch.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Timberwolves' previous season high for 3-pointers was seven but they had eight in the first half alone and finished 11-of-22. ... Minnesota C Nikola Pekovic sat with a sprained wrist while F Thaddeus Young missed his third straight game for personal reasons. ... Knicks SG Iman Shumpert had three points on 1-of-11 shooting in 28 minutes.
