Gerald Green scored 28 points and fellow reserve Isaiah Thomas added 21 as Phoenix controlled the second half in dispatching visiting Brooklyn.

Goran Dragic added 18 points for the Suns, who outscored the Nets 63-41 after the break. Thomas (9-of-9) and Green (11-of-12) combined to hit 20-of-21 free-throw attempts while Miles Plumlee hauled in 10 rebounds for Phoenix.

Joe Johnson scored 21 points while Mirza Teletovic and Brook Lopez added 16 apiece for Brooklyn. Deron Williams and Bojan Bogdanovic each scored 14 for the Nets, who had won four of five.

Green’s jumper gave the Suns their first lead of the fourth quarter at 93-92 with 5:58 to play and Thomas scored on three straight possessions to make it a 99-94 gap. Johnson’s jumper with 3:04 remaining pulled Brooklyn within 101-99, but Phoenix scored the next five and Green and Thomas combined to hit six free throws in the final 28 seconds to put it away.

The Nets came out on fire and shot 70.6 percent in the first half to take a 63-49 lead into the locker room. Brooklyn missed its first seven shots of the third as the Suns began to climb back, and Bledsoe’s 3-pointer capped an 18-4 burst beginning the period to knot it at 67 before the Nets restored an 84-78 cushion entering the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Johnson has made at least one 3-pointer in 37 straight games, marking the longest active streak in the NBA after Golden State’s Stephen Curry had a 75-game run come to an end earlier this week. … Green scored 18 points in the second quarter to keep the game from getting out of hand. … The Nets cooled to 27.5 percent from the field in the second half.
