Wizards 97, Pacers 90: John Wall had 18 points and four steals as Washington jumped out early and held on to end a long skid at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Nene had 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Wizards, who had dropped 12 straight regular-season contests at Indiana since a 98-95 win April 18, 2007. Kevin Seraphin scored 13 points off the bench for Washington, which jumped to a 32-14 lead after the first quarter.

Solomon Hill scored a career-high 28 points for the Pacers, who lost Roy Hibbert to a bruised knee in the first half. Hill shot 10-of-19 from the floor and added six rebounds and three steals as Indiana lost its sixth straight since an opening night win against Philadelphia.

Wall scored six points as Washington closed the first quarter on a 14-4 run. The Wizards increased the edge to 54-35 at the half as Nene finished with 15 points and Indiana turned the ball over 12 times.

Hill led a furious third-quarter rally with 12 points, and a 3-pointer by rookie Damjan Rudez cut the deficit to 71-65. Indiana got within three midway through the fourth on a jumper by Hill, but Wall made two free throws, Paul Pierce fed Marcin Gortat for a dunk and Wall converted a floater for an 89-80 lead with three minutes to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Pacers had not lost six straight since the 2010-11 season. … Hibbert finished with four points and three rebounds in 11 minutes and now joins Paul George (leg), George Hill (knee) and David West (ankle) as injured starters on the sideline from last season's squad that went 56-26.. … Washington beat Indiana here twice in the playoffs last season.
