Wizards 101, Bulls 99 (OT): Bradley Beal scored 26 points as visiting Washington overcame a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to grab a 2-0 lead over Chicago in the first-round series.

Nene scored the first six points of overtime and finished with 17 for the Wizards, who host Game 3 on Friday. John Wall added 16 points and seven assists for Washington, which bridged the fourth quarter and overtime with a 20-4 run before sweating out the final minute of the extra period.

Kirk Hinrich scored 12 points and had a chance to force a second overtime with 2.4 seconds left but missed the first free throw and watched Wall grab the rebound off the intentional miss of the second. D.J. Augustin scored 25 points, Taj Gibson added 22 and 10 rebounds and Joakim Noah had 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Bulls.

Beal connected from beyond the arc with 2:47 left in regulation to make it a one-possession game and hit a floater 84 seconds later to pull the Wizards within one. Beal split a pair of free throws to knot it at 91 with 51.2 seconds to play but missed a fadeaway on the baseline at the buzzer after Washington won a jump ball with 8.3 seconds remaining.

The Wizards led by as much as 17 points in the first half and took a 56-49 lead into the break before the Bulls clawed back. Chicago closed the third quarter with a 14-6 spurt to take a 75-70 edge into the final stanza and extended it out to 87-77 with 6:58 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Bulls’ bench outscored Washington‘s reserves 47-27 behind Gibson and Augustin. … The Wizards struggled to 16-of-28 from the free-throw line but hit all four of their chances in overtime. … Beal and Hinrich got tangled up late in the second quarter, leading to technical fouls on each.
