Nick Young fell two points shy of his career high by scoring 41 points on 14-of-23 shooting as visiting Los Angeles defeated Utah to snap a seven-game skid.

Jodie Meeks added 23 points and Jordan Hill tallied 21 as the Lakers (26-55) assured they won’t finish last in the Western Conference. Kendall Marshall posted 15 assists and Wesley Johnson and Robert Sacre scored 12 points apiece.

Alec Burks scored 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting and Gordon Hayward added 21 for the Jazz (24-57), who have lost five straight games and clinched the worst record in the West. Enes Kanter contributed 19 points and 12 rebounds and Trey Burke had 17 points.

Young drained a 3-pointer with two seconds left in the third quarter to begin a stretch in which he scored 12 points during a 14-0 run that culminated with another 3-pointer and gave the Lakers a 97-86 advantage with 8:03 remaining. The run concluded as a 26-3 spurt with Meeks’ basket making it 109-89 with 4:43 left as Los Angeles held the Jazz to 18 fourth-quarter points.

Utah led by 13 points early in the second quarter before Los Angeles tallied the final 12 points of the half for a 57-51 lead at the break. The Jazz recovered to take a one-point lead on a basket by Burks just past the midway point of the third and the score was knotted at 86 entering the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Jazz last won 25 or fewer games when they went 25-57 in 1981-82. … Young was 6-of-11 from 3-point range while topping his previous season high of 40, set against Portland on April 1. … Kanter was 8-of-12 from the field while recording his fourth consecutive double-double.
