Clippers 120, Lakers 97: Blake Griffin and Chris Paul each scored 23 points before sitting out the fourth quarter as the Clippers cruised past the Lakers in Los Angeles.

J.J. Redick scored 15 points and DeAndre Jordan collected 11 points and 12 rebounds as the Clippers won for the 18th time in 21 games to move within 1 1/2 games of second-place Oklahoma City in the Western Conference. Darren Collison chipped in 14 points as the Clippers won the season series for the second straight year but only the fourth time in franchise history.

Jordan Hill tallied 22 points and nine rebounds for the Lakers and Nick Young added 18 points off the bench before leaving with a left knee injury midway through the fourth quarter. Jodie Meeks scored 17 points and Kendall Marshall added 10 points and 11 assists as the Lakers lost their four straight and 13th in 17 contests.

Young hit a pair of free throws to put the Lakers up 33-32 with 8:18 left in the second quarter, but the short-handed Lakers couldn't keep pace much longer. The Clippers shot 60.5 percent in the first half and opened up a 57-49 lead at the break, then scored the first eight points of the third quarter and closed the period with a 10-3 spurt to begin pulling away.

The Clippers sent their stars to the bench for the fourth quarter but the Lakers never threatened. Hedo Turkoglu scored all 10 of his points in the period to help maintain the big cushion and the Lakers didn't get within 19 the rest of the way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Clippers improved to 35-7 at Staples Center while the Lakers dropped to 15-27 in the teams' shared home arena. … Young injured his knee after being tripped up by Clippers F Glen Davis. Young missed 16 games earlier this season because of a bone bruise on the same knee. … Clippers G Jamal Crawford (calf) was dressed and active but did not play for the fourth consecutive game.
