Clippers 96, Trail Blazers 83: Blake Griffin had 23 points and nine assists as Los Angeles defeated Portland to end a four-game losing skid.

Caron Butler scored 12 points and Eric Bledsoe tallied 10 as the Clippers played without point guard Chris Paul (knee) for the fourth straight game. Los Angeles also avenged Saturday’s 101-100 loss in the front end of the home-and-home, a contest in which the Trail Blazers scored the final 10 points.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 21 points and 11 rebounds, Damian Lillard scored 16 points and J.J. Hickson added 15 for Portland.

Griffin scored Los Angeles’ final 11 points of the first half for a 55-50 lead at the break. Willie Green’s 3-pointer gave the Clippers a 10-point lead less than a minute into the third quarter and a 10-2 surge later in the stanza made it 74-59 with three minutes left.

A 3-pointer by Lillard pulled the Trail Blazers within 84-71 with 8:06 to play. Matt Barnes followed with back-to-back hoops and a layup by Ronny Turiaf gave Los Angeles a 19-point lead with 6:22 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Griffin racked up 19 assists in the back-to-back games with the Trail Blazers. … Portland was 3-of-15 from 3-point range and committed 19 turnovers. … Los Angeles had a 56-24 edge in points in the paint.
