Warriors 106, Timberwolves 98: David Lee led a dominating showing in the paint by collecting 18 points and 13 rebounds as visiting Golden State held off a late charge by Minnesota.

Lee recorded his fifth double-double, helping the Warriors to a commanding 50-34 rebounding margin and an overwhelming 58-22 advantage in points in the paint. Lee also shot 8-for-15, and his biggest basket was a left-handed hook that gave Golden State a 96-91 lead with 2:37 remaining.

Rookie Harrison Barnes also scored 18 points, including a pair of free throws that sealed the win with 34 seconds left. Stephen Curry added 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting before fouling out, Carl Landry chipped in 15 and Jarrett Jack contributed 13.

Derrick Williams led the Timberwolves with a season-high 23 points and Alexey Shved added 22. Andrei Kirilenko contributed 18 points as Minnesota dropped consecutive games for the first time this season.

The Warriors stormed back from a 12-point deficit late in the first half and took a 53-50 lead at halftime. They reeled off 12 straight points early in the third, took an 82-69 lead into the fourth and stretched it to 15 before Minnesota came back.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Veteran F Josh Howard made his debut for Minnesota after signing a one-year contract with the team Thursday. He played 14 minutes and scored six points on 3-of-10 shooting. ... Golden State beat Minnesota for the 16th time in 21 games despite going 2-of-15 from 3-point range.
