ROCKETS 113, KINGS 106 (OT): Patrick Patterson led the way with 24 points off the bench and Goran Dragic stepped up late as host Houston kept pace in the Western Conference.

Dragic finished with 14 points and 10 assists and Luis Scola added 18 points and 14 rebounds for the Rockets, who remained in a three-way tie for seventh place in the West with the Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets.

DeMarcus Cousins had 38 points and 14 rebounds and Marcus Thornton added 27 points for Sacramento, which has lost three straight.

Houston jumped out quickly in overtime as Dragic assisted on two baskets and then hit a 19-foot jumper for a 106-101 lead. Earl Boykins hit four free throws in the final 21.5 seconds to put it away.

Sacramento held a 90-82 lead after Cousins’ layup with 5:45 left but went cold over the next two and a half minutes as the Rockets burst back into the game.

Dragic found Scola and Patterson for jumpers and then got to the basket on his own, turning Scola’s steal into a three-point play in transition. Another steal led to a basket by Patterson and a 91-90 Houston lead.

The Kings managed to get back on top but Patterson hit a long jumper with 8.3 seconds left to tie it at 99 and send the game into overtime.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Kings fell to 4-22 on the road. … Boykins was playing his first game of the season after being signed to a 10-day contract.
