Rays 4, Red Sox 3 (10): Matt Joyce singled home the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as Tampa Bay defeated visiting Boston to earn a split of their four-game series.

Ryan Hanigan (two hits) doubled to start the winning rally and pinch runner Sean Rodriguez moved to third on a sacrifice bunt before Joyce singled over the head of left-fielder Yoenis Cespedes to end it. Evan Longoria knocked in two runs and Wil Myers recorded an RBI with three hits for the Rays while Grant Balfour (2-6) pitched a scoreless 10th for the win.

Mike Napoli homered while Mookie Betts had two hits and knocked in his sixth run of the series for Boston, which lost for only the third time in its last 10 road games. Burke Badenhop (0-3) gave up a run, two hits and two intentional walks – both in the 10th -- in one inning of work to suffer the loss.

Tampa Bay starter Drew Smyly retired the first eight batters he faced before walking Christian Vazquez and Betts followed with a run-scoring double for a 1-0 lead. The Rays responded by scoring three times in their half of the third inning as Myers delivered an RBI double and Longoria singled home a pair with two outs.

Napoli slammed his 17th homer into the left-center field seats in the fourth to pull the Red Sox within a run. Betts singled off reliever Jeff Beliveau with one out in the eighth inning, moved up on a groundout and Cespedes tied the game at 3-3 by lining an RBI single to left field off Steven Geltz.
