Rangers 4, Yankees 2: Miles Mikolas tossed 7 1/3 solid innings to record his first victory in nearly two years as visiting Texas took advantage of five errors to upend New York.
Shin-Soo Choo, Geovany Soto and Rougned Odor each had an RBI single among their two hits for the Rangers, who posted their second win in 12 contests. Mikolas (1-2) allowed two runs and four hits while tossing a season-high 105 pitches to notch his first victory since tossing one scoreless inning of relief for San Diego on Aug. 21, 2012.
Jacoby Ellsbury followed his four-hit performance on Sunday by homering to lead off the fourth inning for the Yankees, who saw their modest three-game winning streak come to an end. Shane Greene (2-1) committed three of the errors and permitted four runs on five hits in 5 2/3 innings to take the loss.
After Ellsbury belted his eighth homer to give New York a 2-1 advantage, Texas made two quick outs in the sixth before taking the lead. Soto singled to left off Greene to plate Jake Smolinski, Odor greeted reliever Matt Thornton with another RBI base hit to left before Choo bounced one up the middle to score Soto.
Neal Cotts relieved Mikolas in the eighth and worked around a walk to retire the next two batters. Joakim Soria put two runners aboard in the ninth before securing his 17th save.

Soto exited the contest prior to the seventh with a sore groin while Smolinski left with a sore foot.
